Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Bolicover ("Bolicover", "we", "us", or "our") collects when you use our editor and services (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Bolicover, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password if you sign up with email and password.
- Third-party sign-in information: if you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive basic profile details from that provider (such as your name, email, and avatar image) to create and identify your account.
- Your content: images you upload and the covers you design or export through the editor.
- Usage and device data: general analytics about how the Service is used (such as pages visited), and technical data like IP address, browser type, and log data.
- Cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and analytics cookies described in Section 4.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and secure your account, and let you sign in;
- To provide the editor and store and display your covers;
- To communicate with you about your account or important changes to the Service;
- To understand usage patterns and improve the Service;
- To detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or security issues.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable data protection law requires it (such as the Brazilian LGPD or the EU GDPR), we process your information based on: performance of the contract you enter into with us when creating an account, our legitimate interest in operating and improving a secure service, and, for optional cookies, your consent.
4. Cookies and Analytics
We use a session cookie required to keep you authenticated. We may also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, which sets its own cookies and processes data according to Google's privacy policy. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
5. How We Store and Protect Your Information
Account and application data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database. Uploaded images and exported covers are stored using Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud storage. Passwords are never stored in plain text; they are hashed before being saved. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) between your browser and our servers.
6. Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the service providers that help us run Bolicover, and only as needed to provide the Service:
- Cloud database and hosting providers;
- AWS, for file storage;
- Google and GitHub, when you choose to sign in through them;
- Analytics providers (e.g. Google Analytics);
- Payment processors, if and when paid plans are introduced in the future.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Bolicover, our users, or the public.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data and content within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal reasons.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to withdraw consent for optional processing (such as analytics). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
9. Children's Privacy
Bolicover is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. International Data Transfers
Our service providers may process and store data in countries other than your own. When this happens, we rely on providers that maintain appropriate safeguards for the data they process on our behalf.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever we make changes, and, for significant updates, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.
